Pregnancy has a tremendous effect on your body during those marvelous months when you look forward to childbirth. Pregnancy is a time to be happy, to rejoice, and await the birth of your loved one. Many moms-to-be, sometimes, feel the period of waiting can be quite tense and nerve-racking especially when the period of waiting seems endless. However, the joys of the forthcoming motherhood soon overcome all these other feelings.

During the period of pregnancy, you would have observed the changes taking place in your body – your hips widen, your girth increases, and you do put on a lot of weight. And, you will have to bid adieu to your fashionable wardrobe – at least, for some time. The time has now come when you will have to wear specialized clothing – special dresses, special night gowns, and special lingerie. And, one of the specialized aspects of your wardrobe is a special bra – the Maternity Bra.

The maternity bra is specially designed to be worn by pregnant women and they have some very special features. The maternity bra or nursing bra provides comfort to the mom-to-be and gives support to her enlarged breasts. It is necessary to wear these bras throughout the entire period of pregnancy to as they support the breasts when they increase in size and tenderness. The same amount of support and comfort will not be available through the regular bras. Maternity bras are supportive and comfortable and help prevent backache and also reduce stretch marks. You will notice that your breasts are very heavy during pregnancy and also during nursing, and so it is necessary to wear a bra that fits and is comfortable.

When you go shopping, you will have to remember some of the important things. Go in for loose-fitting clothing and avoid any type of tight clothing. Buy a good maternity bra that is made of 100% cotton with wide straps and bands. Ensure that the bra has several rows of adjustable hooks to adjust to your expanding breasts. Your breasts will keep on changing and you will experience soreness and tenderness of the breasts, at least during the first three months. Decide whether you would be breastfeeding your baby or not and then select the type of maternity bra you would be purchasing. Ensure that the maternity bra you buy is designed to be free of allergens and toxins so that your delicate and sensitive skin stays protected. Remember to choose bras that are made of cotton and soft enough for you to feel comfortable and sleep in. You can sleep in your maternity bra during the first few months of your pregnancy when your breasts are tender.

When you are a mom or mom-to-be you do not have to choose between femininity and comfort. Though your prime aim should be comfort, today we find that there are a number of maternity bras in the market which can be said to be quite fashionable and, in fact, even sexy. Every woman has a right to feel feminine and express her femininity.

There is no rule that a pregnant woman or mother-to-be should not look attractive. So, go ahead and choose the maternity bra underwear of your choice and look sexy. There is no one to stop you!
