Victoria’s Secret Lingerie

Victoria’s Secret lingerie is considered by many to be the best lingerie brand in the world. It is headquartered in Ohio, United States. The key people running it right now are Sharen Turney, Lori Greeley, Rebecca Finn, and Bill May. Victoria’s Secret has a very short history to it. It was started only in 1977 by Roy Raymond, a Stanford Master of Business Administration graduate. What made him put up a lingerie store out of nowhere? His reason was he was shy to purchase lingerie for his wife in a public department store. His shyness got him a long way later on. His first store opened at the Stanford Shopping Centre. He then followed this opening with a mail order catalogue and three more stores. The idea of the stores was to give males a comfortable environment to buy lingerie for their women. This was a very successful venture. After only five years, Roy Raymond sold the company to The Limited.
The Limited was a well managed corporation that allowed the Victoria’s Secret brand to keep growing. They never changed the image of Victoria’s Secret and they made it a point to keep the company philosophy intact. They expanded all throughout American malls during the eighties and by 1990; Victoria’s Secret became the biggest lingerie manufacturer and retailer in the whole of the United States. It had revenues of more than a billion dollars already.
The Limited went through corporate restructuring in 2007 and sold three quarters of the Limited clothing chain to another company. This allowed them to focus on their Victoria’s Secret brand and their Bath and Body Works brand. These two brands alone provided three quarters of their revenue in the previous year.
Today, there are more than a thousand Victoria’s Secret stores all around the United States. Among the products of Victoria’s Secret are their brassieres, panties, hosiery, cosmetics, sleepwear, among others. Victoria’s Secret is known all throughout the world because of their beautiful lingerie and because of their beautiful models. Victoria’s Secret always gets the best models from around the world to model their lingerie. The Victoria’s Secret model line up is also known as the Victoria’s Secret Angels. The current Victoria’s Secret Angels are Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Selita Ebanks, Karolina Kurkova, Izabel Goulart, Miranda Kerr, and Marissa Miller.
